We're having serious problems with hosting - some errors may happen from time to time. This will be fixed shortly, please be patient.

Stuck At 98% Downloaded?

The reason is that in your client, a piece of data is being detected as bad, or corrupted, by the integrity checking function.

The most common problem is a bad router is corrupting a specific piece – data packet. See, some routers use a router trick called Game Mode, where they attempt to rewrite the internal and external IP address bytes that can be find within the payload of incoming and outgoing packets, and this allows games – which hard-code IP addresses within their own messaging format – to function from behind a NAT setup.

Basically, incoming packets that have a byte sequence that happens to match the address byte sequence can be corrupted, and this happens about once every four gigabytes of data.

There are a few things to try to see if you can get around this problem.

Disconnect and reconnect to the internet, and hope you get a new IP address.

Do not run your router in DMZ mode – demilitarized zone – because it is more likely to happen. Instead, enable port forwarding on your router to go with the ports on the client.

If your router has a game mode option, turn it off, though many routers don't have this.

Your Transfer Has Completely Stopped and You Want to Know Why

Some routers and firewalls can detect date that matches address byte sequences as 'IP Spoofing'. Make sure to check your router for IP spoofing entries, and if you find one for your client, disable the detection.

Other Ways

Check to see what the remaining pieces are in the Files tab.

If they're just Thumbs.db, desktop.ini, or .DS_Store, simply don't download them. Check to see if this works with your client. Also, if it's a text file, or a readme, you probably don't need it – but be careful, it may contain information you do need for installation.

If nothing else works, stop the torrent and start it again, and if that doesn't work, stop all of your transfers, shut down your client and computer, and your router, and wait a few minutes. Turn everything back on, and make sure that the torrent is the only thing working.

You Have A Fake, A Fraud, A PHONEY!

If you get a torrent that stalls at 95% or high complete for longer then 10% of your download time, you should be suspicious. Here are things to look for in a fake torrent:

  • Users commenting on the torrent and saying that it's a fake, especially usernames you've seen before.
  • The torrent was submitted anonymously, or the user has a very low share ratio.
  • There are multiple copies of this torrent, submitted on the same day.
  • You're getting tons of hash fails.
  • There's a constant number of more seeders then peers.

If you're totally and utterly convinced this is a fake, make a comment on the torrent and request that it be removed from the website. Don't, however, do this unless you're sure.
